Femme Du Monde was created to showcase the awesome talents of local female artists! Proceeds will go to the Victim Service Center of Central Florida. The line-up is diverse, with a focus on female empowerment and overcoming personal challenges. The show will feature two musical acts: Lauren Carder Fox, and MoZaic Soul, a portion of the award winning dance show “Spellbound” by VarieTEASE, a one woman theater performance by Marcie Schwalm, and spoken word by the award winning author Leslie Halpern.

Lauren Carder Fox is a singer songwriter who has been a part of the local music scene for 15 years. She released her first full length album as Multiple Me in 2015 and is now branching out with a new ensemble for her original music featuring a harpist, drummer, stand up bass player, and back-up vocalists. She is excited to be hosting and playing in this event.

MoZaic Soul is a soulful singer-songwriter and musician from New York. She has performed professionally for 9 years and has toured all over the U.S.

VarieTEASE will be performing a portion of their Orlando Fringe hit “Spellbound” which was awarded Critic’s Choice Best Dance Show by the Orlando Weekly and the Orlando Sentinel. Spellbound is a powerful narrative about five months of EMDR therapy through dance.

Marcie Schwalm will be performing a portion of her autobiographical one woman show “Boogie Shoes.” Matthew J Palm of the Orlando Sentinel writes, “‘Boogie Shoes’ comically and poignantly tells the story of a young girl whose dreams of becoming a dancer are thwarted by her own clumsiness and lack of talent. Schwalm calls it ‘an uplifting story about learning to be happy in your own skin!’”

Leslie Halpern is an award-winning poet, essayist, book reviewer, movie reviewer, and entertainment journalist. She will be reading a portion of her book of humorous personal essays “Scantily Clad Truths.”
