The THIRD Orlando Indie Comedy Festival is coming Thursday, Jan. 19, through Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017. The small number of all-fest passes will sell out quickly.
Four nights of comedy, over 40 national touring comics, all for $40. They're flying in from cities like Austin, Chicago, Brooklyn, and L.A., for 20 showcases hosted by a select handful of Orlando's best comics.
The festival headliners are already rising comedy stars: The Liberal Redneck Trae Crowder, veteran New York based comedian Mark Normand and from Netflix’s “Lady Dynamite” and IFC’s “Maron”, Jackie Kashian!
All-Fest Passes are on sale NOW. All-Fest Passes are only $40, and admit holders to every single showcase of the festival, including the unique comedy experience “Late Late Breakfast” with Chicago’s Danny Maupin and Tyler Jackson. Holders get priority seating, with standby tickets available at the door when there is room. All-Fest Passes will sell out very quickly, as only 130 are available. Brew some coffee and be ready at midnight.
The festival's 20 showcases in two Orlando neighborhoods — including the Milk District, and Mills 50 — will feature great independent comics from around the country. Each showcase is hosted by one of Orlando's best standup comedians.
Trae Crowder is a comedian from rural Tennessee and the co-writer of The Liberal Redneck Manifesto: Draggin' Dixie Outta the Dark. Crowder was the first person in his family to graduate from college and earn an MBA. In 2010, Crowder got his start as a standup comedian following an open mic night at Side Splitters comedy club in Knoxville, Tennessee. It was after this that he evolved his main character, The Liberal Redneck. After his Liberal Redneck videos went viral, he appeared on a number of television and radio shows. Fox has just given a green light to Crowder’s new scripted comedy, based on his life.
One of America's very best comics, New York comedian Mark Normand has done a Comedy Central Half Hour special, has appeared on TBS’s Conan twice, Showtime's Live at SXSW, Inside Amy Schumer, TruTv, Best Week Ever, Last Comic Standing, @Midnight, and released an album with Comedy Central records titled Still Got It. He was also voted Village Voice's "Best Comedian of 2013." In 2012, Mark appeared on John Oliver’s New York Standup Show on Comedy Central.
Jackie Kashian's stand up "is like listening to a really racy episode of All Things Considered." Her current hour standup special This Will Make an Excellent Horcrux was one of the top five comedy specials of 2014 on vulture.com. In the last year, she's been on the Conan O'Brien show, @midnight and has done some acting on Netflix's Lady Dynamite and IFC's Maron. Jackie has hosted The Dork Forest podcast for over 10 years, with more than 3 million downloads. She is also a co-host to a NEW comedy podcast on the Nerdist Network called The Jackie and Laurie Show.
